"Healing the broken bond between our young & nature is in everyone's self-interest, not only because aesthetics or justice demand it, but also because our mental, physical, & spiritual health depend upon it."

SOL, LLC. Consulting

Sally Anderson, Thought Leader

Are you wondering how to convince school / program administrators that nature connection is a crucial part of early childhood development? Are you wishing to increase outdoor / nature play in your program, but not sure where to start? Are you curious about opening your own Forest School, and / or wonder where to seek certification? Do you wish to make your existing Environmental Education or nature-based program more inclusive and welcoming to children with differing abilities?  Do you wonder how you can weave together complimentary work as a Nature-based Entrepreneur?

If you have these questions, or similar questions, then a conversation with SOL, LLC’s Founder & Director Sally Anderson may help get your “thought river” flowing!

Sally holds an MA degree, is a licensed Educational Administrator in the state of NM, was the first person in the United States to train as a Forest Schools Educator through the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada, serves on the American Forest Kindergarten Association as a Board Member, and served as a former Peace Corps Volunteer and Fulbright Scholar. She has been known throughout her lengthy education career to be an exceptional advocate, facilitator, collaborator, and leader. Sally’s areas of expertise include:

  • Early Childhood Education

  • Special Education & Deaf Education (she is a fluent user of ASL)

  • Nature & Place-based Early Childhood Education

  • Parent / Teacher Coaching & Mentoring

  • Positive Discipline, Attachment Parenting & Slow Parenting

  • The Forest School Pedagogy

  • Shinrin Yoku Forest Therapy

  • Team-building Group Games & Initiatives

  • Small Business Development

Sally is a Guardian of Childhood and a champion of children, parents, teachers, and schools, available for one-on-one or group coaching, mentoring, and consulting (on any / all of the subjects listed above). Sally was recognized in 2019 as the NM Environmental Educator of the Year, in part because of the pioneering work she has done to connect children with differing needs to nature, as well as the variety of services and programs that have been offered through SOL. She has monetized several innovative ideas in her business, but more importantly, she has consistently listened to her internal compass that has led her in her work as a Nature-based Entrepreneur. This listening has led to the birthing of several ideas and offerings that have ultimately succeeded in bringing more children and adults back into the open arms of Mother Earth. In addition to working with young children, Sally also leads adults on Shinrin Yoku Forest Therapy walks and she is training to become a Shamanic Personal Coach.  You can learn more about this work here, as well as how Sally believes that Earth has been Dreaming through her, by reviewing the following links:
