Considering SOLcraft this summer for your 8-13 year old? (offered for 1 week only)
Looking for a more focused outdoor experience? Sign your child up for SOLcraft! SOLcraft is for kids interested in honing in on select skills and who are ready for direct guidance from our experienced staff. SOLcraft is NOT a typical forest school session, and is different from our Adventurers group, where long stretches of child-led, unstructured nature play is essential to the daily rhythm of that program. (If you/your child is expecting more along those lines for their summer camp week with SOL, with less direct guidance from FSGs, we highly recommend enrolling your 6-10 year old in our Adventurers program this summer!)
SOLcraft week (ages 8-13) is a project-oriented experience, with skills-progression through focused time learning a variety of wilderness skills and working with tools. As compared with the 'Adventurers' camp weeks, the emphasis in SOLcraft is on the "craft" aspect, and is intended to be a week-long intensive concentrating on building skills. The core of SOLcraft is well structured. Participants in SOLcraft will be expected to attend to the training and instruction from the FSGs, follow established rules & guidelines for safety, and to participate in demonstrating safe tool-handling and skills-in-progress for attaining proficiency. (Don't worry, we'll still be bringing our SOuLful approach to this special camp week & there will be some time set aside for group connection & fun in the forest whilst also honing our SOLcraft!).
2025-2026 School Year is underway for the Spring!
Summer season is just around the corner!
Thank you SOL community!
